Horseshoe Politics: Right & Left Sides Are Converging

It's beginning to seem to me like I am getting kind of repetitive on the horseshoe theory of the political spectrum. That's probably because every week the news gives me a new example which illustrates the idea. To review, the textbook political spectrum is a linear left-right line with fascists on one end and communists on the other with moderates somewhere in the middle and no real place for libertarians.

Late last month, the Trump administration's EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, announced a proposal to rescind the 2009 EPA endangerment finding. This was the EPA finding under the Obama administration that classifies carbon dioxide and five other gases as pollutants. This could be huge. If it goes through. Predictably, every environmental organization is screaming bloody murder. It will almost certainly eventually go to the United States Supreme Court. And who knows how they will eventually rule.
